A passion of mine since moving from Kent to Devon 5 years ago, The Felted Flock began when I discovered a love for working with wool.

Starting with the wool from 4 orphan lambs (Tipsey, Tiny, Button and Pooh) who we bottle raised on our small holding, I taught myself how to prepare raw wool fibre and turn it into felt or yarn using a spinning wheel.

The method I use to felt is a process called wet felting, it creates dense flat sheets of felt. Felt is believed to be one of the oldest forms of textile. These sheets are then sewn into the dolls shown.

The Dolls are hypo-allergenic (a natural quality of wool), 100% British wool, free from dye or chemicals, felt heirloom dolls. Every step of their creation has been done by hand- from, sheering to felting and sewing.

While in my second year studying at Falmouth University I discovered a love for 3D character design. Initially I made a puppet, but this soon morphed into artist dolls (Art dolls for short) - they are one-of-a-kind, hand sculpted characters that are posable.

These dolls are created using a wire armature and polymer clay, each is unique and individually designed. their clothes are hand sewn with cotton blend fabric and accessories (such as shawls-100% wool, and hats) are also hand made.

these dolls are not intended as toys as the contain small parts, they are display items only.

Currently these are not available to purchase- please get in contact if you are interested in buying/ commissioning a doll.
