Hello! My name is Ellie McCarthy I am a illustrator and doll maker based in North Devon, currently in my final year at Falmouth University.

While in my second year studying at Falmouth University I discovered a love for 3D character design. Initially I made a puppet, but this soon morphed into artist dolls (Art dolls for short) - they are one-of-a-kind, hand sculpted characters that are posable.
I focus on children's illustration- specifically interactive books for those aged 6-11, including pop-up. I also enjoy book cover designs for early chapter books.

A passion of mine since moving from Kent to Devon 5 years ago, The Felted Flock are hypo-allergenic, 100% British wool, felt heirloom dolls. Every step of their creation has been done by hand- from bottle raising unwanted lambs, sheering, felting and sewing.
